Valentine’s Treat For Motorists As Petrol Price Will Reduce By 4 Shillings At Midnight!

During the monthly review by the Energy Regulatory Commission today, it has been announced that there will be a reduction of petrol by Kshs 4.12 per litre.

As for Kerosene, the price reduction would be Kshs 5.20 and for Diesel, the price reduction would be Kshs 6.28 per litre.

According to the commission, the new prices reductions would be put into effect starting from14th February midnight.

This means that motorists in Nairobi will find petrol retailing at 100.09 Kshs per litre tomorrow morning, while motorists in Mombasa will purchase a litre of petrol at Kshs 97.46.

As per the statement released by Robert Pavel Oimeke, ERC Director General, the changes are as a result of the average cost of importing Super Petrol reducing by 7.23 percent.

Additionally, the new prices will be inclusive of the 8 percent Value Added Tax as per provisions stipulated by the 2018 Finance Act.

Kenyans will now breath a sigh of relief from the high cost of living that has crippled the country for the past couple of months.
