Famed for his ‘watermelon’ tag, Wiper leader has, in the recent past, been seen as idolizing President Uhuru Kenyatta. In a recent public event, Kalonzo said that he was willing to support Uhuru’s rule beyond his term limit that expires in 2022.
However, he defended himself in an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday by saying, “I am a very outstanding constitutional lawyer who does not advocate for an extension of the presidential term and this goes down to governors.
“In my opinion, I am looking at a 2022 post-election in a situation where we need to maintain a government of national unity. You cannot just write away Uhuru.”
However, the Wiper leader has been trolled by Kenyans online who see him as an errand boy of the President.
For instance, @ItsMutai tweeted, “Kalonzo Musyoka blatantly wants to fool KENYANS and twist phrases. This is conmanship. Opportunism. Ujinga na Ushenzi. You can’t just sit there and think we all are fools.” who also added,
“Kalonzo Musyoka is now a sycophant of Uhuru Kenyatta. He used his interview on #Newsnight to heap praises on Uhuru Kenyatta outdoing the leutenants of Uhuru Kenyatta. So sad. Restlessness. Lack of direction. Hollow and lack of ideology.”

@EKmwanzo illustrated how the Kamba community from which Kalonzo hails from is disinterested in the Wiper leader’s assertions.

@robertjosochi advised Kalonzo to rethink about his political advisers. He tweeted, “Does @skmusyoka have a political advisor and if YES, can (s)he just ask for a leave and go and re-strategise the political lifeline of this man. Kalonzo is always swift like the wind, here-and-there, with no solid political standing! If NO, can he get volunteers”

@MulliKasiva, while dismissing Kalonzo, illustrated the ever changing faces of the man.
“I wrote off Kalonzo in 2007,when instead of remaining impartial and helping to mediate peace on behalf of Kenyans, jumped at the opportunity to become a VP leaving us in the cold. Who remembers how he used was it 33 million? on shuttle diplomacy that yielded nil results”, the tweet reads.

Here are some of other interesting reactions from Kenyans.
How many chances does @skmusyoka want us to give him to see a different Kalonzo? He is a weak, indecisive and conservative leader who cannot take Kenya to another level

@HusseinMohamedg I am more surprised how you didn't give Kalonzo Musyoka the look @RailaOdinga did 😁. @citizentvkenya pic.twitter.com/372KBLPw3H
