Tharaka Nithi county is mourning the death of Governor Onesmus Muthomi Njuki’s mother, Jennifer Cianjagi Njuki. The governor shared the sad message on his Facebook page; ”I regret to announce the passing on of my mother Jeniffer Cianjagi Njuki today who has been ailing. God’s works have no mistakes and we thank Him for the time He gave us with her. Thank you for your support and prayers.”
She was a former nursery school teacher and a businesswoman and has been described as strong woman of faith. The governor has received condolences messages from his counterparts;
My deepest condolences to my colleague, Governor, Tharaka Nithi, H.E. Muthomi Njuki , on the passing away of your dear mum. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May the Lord comfort and strengthen you during this trying time.

Its a hard time for Governor Muthomi Njuki after some of women in his county protested alleged insults, marched to his office and dumped underwear demanding an apology over his utterances. The county assembly also impeached Muthomi’s deputy, Susan Ngugi.
