Could this be the man behind the Nairobi’s CBD explosion ?

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation has called on the public to identify a man captured in a CCTV footage along Latema road on January 26.
According to the DCI the man who appears to be of Somali origin could be the one behind the Latema Road IED explosion.

Two people were injured after the suspected IED went off outside Smothers Restaurant at the Tom Mboya – Latema Road intersection in Nairobi.

“DCI Detectives investigating the explosion are appealing for the public’s help in identifying the person circled on the video below,” DCI boss George Kinoti said.

Via Twitter on Wednesday, Kinoti appealed to anyone with information to come forth.

“Kindly report to Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters in Kiambu or Call 0729999988, Email at atpukenya@yahoo.com,” he said.

Nairobi regional police commander Philip Ndolo said the man of Somali descent had hired a trolley pusher to move a carton box from Latema road to Kenya Cinema when the luggage went off.

The device inside the box is suspected to have been an improvised explosive device, he said. He gave the name of the trolley pusher as Joseph Okinyi.
