The news of Kenyan human rights activist Caroline Mwatha have been doing rounds for over a week now with no one knowing his whereabouts.
Well the search is over after the activists body found dead at a city mortuary after what has been reported by police as botched abortion.
According to police Mwatha, was five months pregnant, and at a clinic where she had gone for the abortion.
The owner of the clinic, and a doctor, came forward and admitted that “they took the body to the mortuary and booked her under a different name and indicated she died of diarrhoea”.
Police spokesman Charles Owino confirmed the death and the arrests of the doctor and clinic owner.
Ms Mwatha’s disappearance prompted International Human Rights organisation Amnesty International to raise the alarm over her disappearance, given her work lobbying against extra judicial killings by police.
