Missing Kenyan lady activist found dead

Caroline Mwathe, the missing Dandora activist  who went missing last week has been found dead at a city mortuary after a botched abortion, police said Tuesday.

Police reports indicated that her body was sent to the mortuary on February 7.

Wilfred Olal, who is the Centre coordinator, had revealed that the organisation had faced threats from police due to the work that they do.

“The killer police have been very hostile and have been issuing threats to some of us, including Caroline,” stated Olal.

The mother of two had been leading a campaign against extra-judicial killings witnessed in the estate.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had on Monday offered a Sh300,000 reward to any member of the public who could locate Mwathe.

Sonko had further requested the masses to forward necessary information to the DCI.

The proposal of the governor came after Amnesty International executive director Irungu Houghton had called on the police to find her and get her back home.
