Kisii Striking Nurses Given Ultimatum

Nurses in Kisii County who are currently under strike have been given a notice, expires on Wednesday to individually respond to their letters of discipline.

County secretary Patrick Lumumba has given a letter to all the striking nurses stating that a headcount will be done to identify the nurses who are on strike and those who have reported

Lumumba has added that any intimidation, threat, obstruction and incitement cases to any nurse shall be dealt with according to the law.

The County secretary further gave a directive to sub county health officers and CEC contolling administration to supervise the whole process of counting all striking nurses.

The nurses’ union secretary Moses Riang’a had on Monday responded to the ultimatum stating that the nurses will only respond to show cause letters that they receive through their mail boxes and won’t react to any letter from sub county health offices.
