Rosemary Odinga Sues Her Personal Assistant

 

Daughter to the former prime minister Raila Odinga, Rosemary Odinga on Monday sued her personal assistant John Oduor for fraud.

According to the charge sheet, Rosemary is accusing Oduor of stealing Ksh 245,000 from her NIC bank account.

The charge sheet reads that the money was allegedly stolen from the account between November 15, 2018, and February 5, 2019.

Christine Anyango, who is Oduor’s wife has also been charged for for conspiracy in the matter.

The suspect was on Monday charged alongside his wife, Christine Anyango, before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi before being released on  a bond of Ksh 200,000 each or an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000 each.

Justice Andayi held that the case would be heard on March 7.

Rosemary has been out of the public limelight due to health challenges for the better part of the time since 2017.Last year November, Odinga’s eldest daughter made her first public interview after 21 months of illness. It was then that she went public about her loss of sight while undergoing treatment for a mild stroke.

I am struggling to adapt to the new changes, having lost my sight during my illness. I have had support from everybody around me for which I am very grateful. I will continue to do what my heart most desires to empower women in our country,” Rosemary said of her condition.
