No Way! CS Mucheru Refuses Graft Suspect Appointment to KIMC!

ICT CS Joe Mucheru has vehemently refused Jared Kwaga’s appointment as a member of KIMC (Kenya Institute of Mass Communication) board.

The main reason for revoking his appointment is that Kwaga is considered a key suspect in the looting of over Sh 2 billion from the financial accounts of Migori county.

Interestingly, Kwaga is one of the individuals that has been offered a lucrative appointment by the State this week.

DCI Chief George Kinoti, in collaboration with DPP Noordin Haji, have been working towards barring any suspects associated with graft from holding public positions.

That being said, a gazette notice today has revoked the appointment of Jared Kwaga.

The notice reads that the ICT CS Joe Mucheru has revoked the membership f Jared Peter Odoyo Kagwa to the Council of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.

In response to the graft allegations, the High Court proceeded to freeze Kwaga’s assets after a Ksh 1.9 billion recovery suit was filed against Kwaga and some of his relatives. They include his wife and mother.

Lately, the government has made it mandatory that individuals first get clearance from the EACC prior to applying to State jobs.

One is also required to have a letter of good conduct from the DCI.

In some special cases, the National Intelligence Service also needs to provide a secret dossier on the client that clears their name from any illegal wrongdoings.

Indeed, such appointments have unearthed the rotting procedures that take place during the vetting process.

Other notable appointments to the Communications board include Dee Kivuva, Beatrice Marshall, and Edward Musebe

In other chief government positions, Former Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye was appointed the chairperson of the National Water and Storage Authority.

Additionally, the new chairperson or the Council of Kenya Cultural Centre will be Olga Karani, and the chair of the Water Resource Authority will be former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu.
