Things have unraveled very quickly for Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea within the last few weeks and 6-0 thrashing by Manchester City further proves that there might be a problem at the Bridge.

In December, Chelsea were in a straight tussle with Arsenal for fourth spot, with Sarri’s side three points ahead of their London rivals and 11 above United but after Sunday’s humiliation at the Etihad, things have completely changed with United are in fourth place, one point ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Blues have now equaled their poor record of four away losses in a row in all competitions without scoring. In fact, their last away goal was N’Golo Kante’s winner at Crystal Palace on Dec. 30.

Asked about his future at the club, Sarri, who left Serie A side Napoli to take charge at Stamford Bridge last summer said, “I don’t know. You have to ask the club.”

“I am worried about my team, worried about the performance but my job is always at risk.”

“My target is to play my football, and not to change to other football (styles), Sarri said. “Today I didn’t see my football. At the beginning it worked, so now we need to understand the reason why at the moment it isn’t working.

“I am worried about my team and the performance – my job is always at risk.”

“In the last three matches away we’ve played very badly so we need to say sorry,” added the 69-year-old Italian.

“I’m surprised because at the beginning of the season we played better away than at home so I don’t know what has happened but at the moment we are in trouble,” Sarri added.

With the Italian seemingly unmoved, it is wait-and-see from most Chelsea supporters on the next move by Roman Abramovich, the club owner, who is not known for patience from the coaches.
