How Pogba slipped from PSG hands

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could be on the ranks of Paris Saint Germain if the club’s scouting network would have kept a keen eye on talents in Paris according to US Roissy-en-Brie club president Sambou Tati.

Tati coached Pogba in a small club in the French capital named US Roissy-en-Brie during the midfielder’s youth career. Pogba joined Manchester United in 2009 after going through the youth ranks of Torcy and Le Havre after leaving US Roissy-en-Brie. The French midfielder then joined Italian giants Juventus back in 2012 but rejoined The Red Devils in 2016 for a then world record fee of £89 million.

Speaking in an interview, Tati revealed how PSG missed out on the signing of Pogba, “When he was young they weren’t interested in him, Monaco and Le Havre were interested in Paul when he was young. The scout of PSG in this area at the time, when Paul was young, was not very good, they weren’t very good in Paris generally. They didn’t really search the players of the region in Paris. They watched the whole country but they didn’t really focus on the area around Paris.”
