Mr. Kwega’s Corruption Case

The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission, believes that Peter Odoyo is among the proxies used by Governor Obado to draw over sh. 2 billion from the county’s account.

When the EACC asked the court to allow them freeze and trace the assets that they believed were part of the Governor’s fraud scheme, Mr Kwega was listed as the first respondent.

While Kwega has not been declared guilty of fraud, his nomination is certain to raise some questions on the president’s commitment against war on corruption.

The war between EACC and the ministry is expected to begin on whether the nomination should stand as the EACC has for a long time raised complains that a suspect in authority is likely to tamper with evidence.

For the moment, the fruits of handshake has continued to be seen worldwide as many appointments have been witnessed for Nyanza region, with the appointees receiving positions in the parastatal either as board members or chairpersons.
