Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Eugine Wamalwa is among the lucky Kenyans who were evacuated from the Leopard Beach Resort Inferno that burnt down the facility.
According to reports, the fire started last night and razed five blocks of hotels each containing 20 rooms.
The CS was among the guests in the rooms and he was later transferred to Almanara Resort in Diani.
Reports confirm that all guests who were there were all evacuated safely and no casualties have been reported till now.
Though, reports indicate that many properties were destroyed including travel documents for visitors.
Yet to be confirmed reports states that the fire could have been caused by fireworks throen by Hindus, who had a wedding celebration in the same facility.
It is reported that the fireworks landed on ‘makuti’- thatched cottege before spreading to other parts of the facility.
Msambweni OCPD, Joseph Chebusit confirmed the incident and stated that no casualties were reported and there was a quick response that contained the fire some few minutes to 1 a.m.
The police have taken charge of the matter and the investigation to know the cause of the fire is underway.
