First Lady Margaret Kenyatta was on Saturday elected Vice president of the Organization of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA). She was elected during (OAFLA) during the Steering Committee meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the AU Commission Old Buildings.

The OAFLA General Assembly is taking place alongside the 32nd AU Heads of State and Government where President Uhuru Kenyatta is taking part. She will deputize H.E.Adjoavi Sika Kabore president of OAFLA who is also the first lady of Burkina Faso.

Many Kenyans congratulated the first lady upon her new position and AU re-elected Kenya as a member of the AU security council for another three years.
She replaces Malawi’s First Lady, Madam Gertrude Mutharika who was elected at the OAFLA general assembly in South Africa.
