Sonko to lead Ukambani reconciliation talks

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has said he is ready to lead reconciliation talks to calm down the political temperature that have ensued in Ukambani political arena.

The governor said that it was not right  for politicians from the region to engage in political shenanigans at this point in time when the people of Ukambani have so much expectations from them in terms of development.

He called upon the leaders to exercise political tolerance and desist from 2022 politics which he said are way too far.

” If they will find it difficult to unite, I am very read to take on the responsibility of bringing them together so that they can serve the people of Ukambani who are in dare need of development,” said Sonko.

With governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Kivutha Kibwana(Makueni) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) ganging up against Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and all that he  represents, the political ground appears set for the two conflicting sides to engage in flexing the political muscles.

The governors are sharply criticised Musyoka of doing little to improve the living standards of the people from Ukambani despite being close to power for a very long period of time insisting that he must take leave

Kalonzo has however, bashed off the allegations affirming that he will not be intimidated by anybody and will endeavour  to serve the people of Ukambani and Kenya at large without any fear or favor.

The tussle has been persistently escalating and now  Makueni governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana is threatening to pull out of the Wiper Party in a bit to distance himself from Kalonzo and chart his own political path. Reports have indicated that the governor in planning to vie for the presidential seat in 2022.
