A Kenyan Female activist Scheaffer  Okore has challenged the President’s directive to revamp the sports sector.

The President yesterday said that there is a need to revive sports and the arts in the country.  “One way of doing that is to motivate our young people through adequate resourcing.” he said

The head of state also  urged the Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund Oversight Board to be in the forefront of building strong national sporting teams through provision of adequate funding as well as through branding and provision of the necessary supplies they need to excel.

However , Okore says that if Kenyatta  stopped giving incompetent people these roles he wouldn’t need to revive anything.

“If you stop surrounding yourself with people from one age group you’d not need to revive anything. Anyway bless” she said in a thread of tweets

Okore said that this directive irritated her because of the  gaps that are in existence in the sports sector.

The Female activist went ahead to state some of the things that she  feels need to be looked into.

“Actors can’t do this, writers can’t write that, people can’t do this I mean seriously!!!! Young people are trying but at some point you need to stop doing lip service and realise these are real people with real lives and ambitions that’s being made unnecessarily difficult.”

“Photographers, creatives, musicians keep getting blocked by the homophobic leadership at KFCB. Mara sijui you need this licence or that one and can’t do this or that my goodness!!! Young people been trying but this leadership is impossible” she stated

She also added that Kenya  barely has quality stadiums and completely lacks proper Film, Arts and Music facilities for the many talented Kenyans to nurture their skills.

Okore noted that her wish is that one day the  needs of the young creatives and sports enthusiasts will be prioritized.
