Sonko encouraged organisations involved with volunteerism to come and share their successes, challenges and lessons learnt, in order to promote volunteering in Kenya.

He also  urged the private sector to embrace Good Deeds because, as they say, “Doing good is good business”.

“Even the monthly clean-up day that we have every month, and the next one will be held tomorrow, is an act of doing good in our communities.”Sonko said

The Good Deeds day started in Israel 13 years ago and has grown into a huge international event.

Last year, Israel named Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko as the Good Deeds Goodwill ambassador.

Good Deeds Global chief executive Kaynan Rabino lauded Sonko his support towards various communities and the beautification on Mombasa Road.

Today, Sonko thanked  them for bestowing on him the great honour to be the Good Deeds Goodwill Ambassador in Kenya.

The Governor extended an invitation to his Excellency the Ambassador of Israel to Kenya and everyone present during the luncheon, to join his team tomorrow at the Kawangware grounds for the clean-up exercise.
