Kenya’s bunching boxer Conjestina Achieng set to return into the ring

Conjestina Achieng, once Kenya’s finest bunching boxer is set to return into the ring again after experiencing one of the most tumultous moments in her career that saw her admitted in a rehab for mental check up and treatment.

The former World Boxing Association middleweight champion completed her primary tretment in Kabete and is now undergoing her secondary treatment at Diani Beach under the care of Eden House Rehabilitation.

According to her doctors, ‘Conje,’ as she is famously known, is responding well to the treatment and will soon be allowed to go back to her boxing game.

“She gets achance to jog and exercise at the beach, she goes to the gym and oes her training, we are very happy with her recovery process,”said Prescott Mulwa who is one of her counsellors at Eden House Rehabilitation.

Conjestina has also expressed confidence in herself affirming that her career is in the bunching game and will not quit it midway.

“I would like to tell Kenyans that I will comeback, boxing is my career and i will not abandon t midway,”she said.

The boxer who is currently aged 41 years  has already completed a two-weeks  training session at the beach. Reports have hinted at a possible face off between her (Conjestina) and fellow boxer Fatuma Zarika in a cutain raiser fight slated for March this year.

Zarika is preparing to take on Zambia’s boxer Catherine Phiri on 23rd of March, 2019.

Conjestina developed mental illiness and was last year airlifted to Nairobi by Governor Mike Sonko for rehabiltation purposes and medical attenton. Sonko also hinted at giving her a job after recovery.
