Berenice Schkair, Emiliano Sala’s ex-girlfriend has taken to social media after Sala’s body was recovered from the plane on Wednesday night. The body of Emiliano Sala has been successfully recovered from the wreckage. The cause of the crash remains unclear but Sala’s former girlfriend has sent out a message on social media. Schkair posted a poignant picture of a yellow rose in tribute to the former Nantes striker.
Sala and pilot David Ibbotson were the only two people on board on the Piper Malibu aircraft which was downed on a flight between Nantes and Cardiff on January 21. Berenice posted a picture of the pair on her Instagram,a long with the caption: “Forever close to you… Never give up #justiceforemilianosala”
It was announced late on Wednesday night that a body had been pulled from the water and would be taken to Portland to be passed over to the Dorset coroner for examination.
However, the overall operation has now been brought to a close with the weather forecast poor for the foreseeable future. Renowned marine scientist and oceanographer David Mearns has admitted recovering bodies is the “most important thing for families”. Mearns lead the privately-funded search for the missing wreckage.
