Three players who have disappointed for Arsenal this season

Change at Arsenal was always expected to yield mixed results, especially when you consider the fact that it was after 22 years. Unai Emery was appointed to replace Arsene Wenger and while he is doing a great job in trying to ease Arsenal trough this transition period, he has been let down by a number of players whose performances have simply not been god enough. Here are three players who have so far flopped for Arsenal this season.

Mustafi

A World Cup winner with Germany in Brazil 2014,it is hard to explain exactly what goes in Mustafi’s head during matches. It is very much allowed for a defender to commit a mistake once in a while but in Musafi’s case, his mistakes a very much part of his normal play. Against Manchester City at the Etihad, he was lucky not to concede a penalty after a very stupid foul on Aguero inside the box which would have seen the German sent off too.

His defending involves constant fouling of the opposition which ultimately costs Arsenal goals from fouls and penalties and it is no surprise that Arsenal are yet to keep a clean sheet while he plays this season. He earlier arsenal get rid of him, the better they will be!

Granit Xhaka

The Swiss midfielder must be long lost brother to Mustafi. Slow on the ball, not good on the tackle and always prone costly mistakes. He is the player with the most errors leading to a goal in the entire league! Though he does have his moments of brilliance, it has been three years at the club and there are no signs that he can be the world beater we all thought he would be when Arsene Wenger signed him for 35 million pounds. Easily the worst piece of business the former Arsenal manager conducted while at the club. Xhaka is not an Arsenal level player!

Mesut Ozil

Most people might disagree with this but Arsenal’s highest paid player in the history of the club has been nowhere near is best for almost two years! On his day, he is a fantastic footballer who picks passes that no other player can. However, the German has been on a decline and Unai Emery seems to have noticed this hence why he rarely picks him. He is weak and not hardworking enough, something Unai Emery really needs from his players. Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal career seems to be on it’s death bed and to be honest, many can not wait o see him leave!
