Kibwana avoids Kalonzo’s hired goons and does the unthinkable

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana on Wednesday unveiled Kenyan chapter of the Movement for Community-Led Development.

The second-term governor took to social media to share photos of him and other leaders presiding over the event.

He called upon youths and women from different parts of Ukambani region and the entire nation to swing into action.

“I’m persuaded that community-led development is a means of governance for poverty eradication, sustainable development, and social transformation. Politicians should stop seeing the establishment of public participation mechanisms as a threat to their power,” the Makueni county boss advised.

The movement launched in Kibwana’s backyard was projected in different parts of the world including Malawi, Uganda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Netherlands, UK, and Mexico.

Kibwana has embarked on running the county on the basis of community participation.

One of his key strategies including investment in public participation as well as civic education.

The governor has expressed his commitment towards changing the residents’ lives since he took over power.

He has been rated as one of the best performing county bosses during his second term in office.

Kibwana’s exemplary performance scoreboard has seen him being proposed to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta by a section of Kenyans on social media.
