They say that death always comes like a thief. Nobody knows when this dreaded monster will come knocking at their doors.

Many families are always left wallowing in pain and sorrow after the loss of one of their loved ones.

Such is the case of the late James Oduor alias Odu Cobra’s family. Cobra left his house on the 15th of January with hope that he would return in the evening to reunite with his family.

This was not to be as Terrorists bullets condemned him to his early grave.

Odu Cobra’s loss was a big loss, not just to his family but also to the football fraternity, a sport he love so much.

It is Cobra’s love for football that prompted Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and the Nairobi Sports Management Board to pledge Sh250,000 in sponsorship for the Ziwani Football Tournament.

The sponsorship is in memory  “Odu Cobra”, who was among the 21 victims of the DusitD2 attack on January 15.

Oduor will be buried on Saturday in Likwala, Ugenya subcounty.

A memorial service was held for him on Thursday at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.

Sonko also offered mourners going for the burial of the late Cobra free transport.

“This Morning I have offered mourners with free transport going for the burial of the Late Cobra Oduor in Kisumu.

No amount equates the life and talent we have lost but we pray for strength and hope in this trying time the family to find comfort.

Last night together with the Nairobi Sports Management Board we have extended a hand to the farewell preparations at the 2nd football tournament in Ziwani in COBRA’s memory after Strathmore’s tournament thereby giving a total of ksh250,000.” said Sonko.
