Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s family has come to the aid of Ruth Rono, the 27-year-old First Class Honours graduate whose story went viral on Facebook.
Through her official facebook page Vicky Chepkorir, former Kanu Women Rep aspirant in Kericho and Gideon Moi’s ally, posted:
“We need a permanent job for her. Senator Gideon Moi’s wife Zahra Bahlewa Moi has negotiated job offers for Ruth Rono, a First Class Honour graduate from Baringo at Kabarak University and GDC. Anyone who can reach her to get in touch with Lex K Ander as soon as possible. God bless Kenya!”
Rono, who hails from Lelbatai village in Baringo Central, graduated with a First Class Honours in Economics and Statistics but she has been languishing in her village.
Her poverty-stricken story was featured on Facebook and left netizens in tears.
It touched many and within hours, she had received hundred of shillings through her M-Pesa as well as job offers.
Ruth has also landed a job in the city and she will therefore have to make a choice of relocating to Nairobi take the Kabarak University offer.
Her case is just an example of the many hardships Kenyan graduates go through after completing campus.
