Juventus & BVB battling for Chelsea defender

Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are both ready to launch late bids for outcast Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen this week. The Dane has fallen down the Stamford Bridge pecking order under Maurizio Sarri.  Christensen angered the Italian by disappearing from the bench for a toilet break for the final minutes of Chelsea’s defeat at Arsenal.

Andreas Christensen began facing fresh doubt over his Chelsea future after leaving boss Maurizio Sarri fuming over a trip to the loo. The defender Christensen was an unused sub during Chelsea’s dismal defeat to Arsenal which led to their manager launching a public attack on the desire of his players. Blues boss Sarri is understood to have been even more annoyed at the Danish centre-back for failing to return back to the dug-out after nipping away mid match for a toilet break.

The Times says Christensen, 22, had just watched Callum Hudsoin-Odoi come on in the 80th minute of the 2-0 loss at the Emirates – Sarri’s third and final change. He then told colleagues he was popping back to the dressing room to go to the toilet – only to not return. As stoppage time was played it meant the defender was missing from the bench for the last 15 minutes of action in total. Image result for Chelsea+Christensen goal

There is no indication Christensen had sought the permission of the coaching staff before making his dash to the dressing room. It is believed Sarri is far from impressed by his player’s actions, which come on the back of a series of disappointing reactions from his Blues stars.

After the Arsenal loss the Italian launch a stinging public attack on his squad, accusing them of lacking the desire and mentality he demands. And now his spell in London could be coming to an end with the two Champions League sides keen to land him before the deadline.Image result for andreas christensen

Juventus are seeking extra defensive strength after letting Mehdi Benatia leave for Qatari side Al-Duhail. And Dortmund, who face Spurs in the last 16 next month, are seeking reinforcements at the back to strengthen their Bundesliga title charge. Image result for andreas christensen

Christensen is keen to leave for first team football after making just one league appearance this season, in the shock defeat at Wolves last month. Chelsea, though, are holding out for a £6m loan fee before agreeing to let the defender go in the winter window.

Sarri is continuing his overhaul at Stamford Bridge with unwanted striker Alvaro Morata having already joined Atletico Madrid on an 18-month loan. Winger Victor Moses has followed suit and signed for Fenerbahce, while Gary Cahill and Danny Drinkwater can all leave the club before the transfer window shuts.
