Veteran Gospel Artist Daddy Owen is today celebrating his 37 th birthday  today and Kenyans have celebrated  him for his contribution  in the music industry.

The artist had been in the industry for years and his most well-known song  that earned him recognition is his song “Mbona”

Owen started singing way back when he was still in high school but was not particularly able to hit the limelight because he lacked money to record his songs as he was from a humble background.

He however credits his breakthrough to great support both financial, spiritual and emotional from his family, particularly his brother Rufftone and the late gospel artist Kaberere who he has constantly called his mentor. (Wikipedia)

Daddy Owen is among the  gospel artists how have contributed in the shaping of the music industry and defining the standard of the gospel music.

Responding to critics in regard to the gospel industry being describe as dead, Daddy Owen insisted that the gospel industry is still alive and kicking.

Owen has also been on the frontline to take part in the play Kenya music conversation.

His growth in the music industry has been of impact to the society and with no doubt his story is inspirational to Kenyan youth.

His fans today flooded on his social media accounts to  send messages on his  special day.
