Kakamega Homeboyz have fired Ugandan coach Paul Nkata on match fixing allegations.

Nkata was fired Monday alongside his assistant Hamza Kalanzi.

Speaking to a local media house, the club chairman Cleophas Shimanyula alleged that the former Muhoroni, Bandari and Tusker tactician match fixed Homeboyz two matches against Mathare United on January 19, and against Sony Sugar on January 2. Homeboyz lost the two matches 3-2 and 2-1 respectively.

“We have call recordings of the coach telling players to match fix two matches against Mathare and Sony Sugar where he promised them Ksh .200,000 each. We went on to lose the two matches,” charged Shimanyula.

Shimanyula also claimed that the coach is on the run, adding that the matter has since been reported to the police who are on his trail in his native land Uganda where he is believed to be in hiding.

“In fact we have reported the matter to the police and we have also sent a statement to KPL to investigate the matter because we do not know for how long he has been doing this,” he added.
