Several people are nursing injuries after a water tank crumbled down, on Monday, January 28 in Katangi, Machakos County. Reports indicated that the hoisted water reservoir is one of Governor Alfred Mutua’s flagship programs to make the devolved unit water sufficient.

Confirming the incident, the devolved units administration said in a statement that facility had yet to be handed over the county by it contractor. The county further state experts had been deployed at the scene to investigate the accident and will file a report on why the tank collapsed.
” The contractor is yet to handover the project to county. No payments have been made to the contractor. Our engineers and other investigative agencies to investigate the cause of the collapse and public made aware.The people of Katangi will get another elevated water tank,” the statement read.
