In a radical way, President Uhuru Kenyatta gave Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i new responsibilities in new administration set up.
Matiang’i got named the chairpersonof national development implementation and communication committee to oversee the execution of government projects.
According to an Executive Order issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta Monday, Matiangi will guide the team comprising all Cabinet Secretaries, Attorney General, Kihara Kariuki, and Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua.
This move saw many accuse the president of reducing his Deputy President’s duties that birthed many ideas over Uhuru’s intentions with Ruto.
The DP whose been silent finaly spoke out in a tweet where he endorsed President Kenyatta’s executive order.
GoK officers at all levels should align their operations to the ORDER issued by HE the President setting up committees at county, regional, national (technical)and national (cabinet) for purposes of effective implementation of projects & programmes and efficient communication.
