ARSENAL striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has set the Premier League alight this season – but a stat has now been revealed that may worry fans.

The Gabon forward has notched 14 goals in the Premier League this season – a number only bettered by Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah.

But, incredibly, he should have scored plenty more.

Arsenal fan and journalist James McNicholas revealed on podcast Arsecast that – up until the match against Tottenham on December 2 – Aubameyang had converted six out of 10 big chances given to him.

“Since then, he has had 13 big chances – they have occurred every 61 minutes,” he said.

“But he has converted just one – an 8% conversion.”

All co-host Andrew Mangan can say is “wow”, as McNicholas continues.

“It is interesting that he is, or the team, are creating more chances for him but he’s taking less of them,” he adds.

“And that’s why it’s so eye-catching.”

Aubameyang has found the back of the net four times since Spurs – a period spanning eight matches.

He hasn’t scored in his last two matches – against West Ham and Chelsea – but will be hoping to get back on the scoresheet in the Gunners’ FA Cup clash against Manchester United on Friday.
