‘Our Son is not a terrorist!’ Horror as Isiolo parents find their son on list of most wanted terrorists

There was horror in Isiolo County on Monday, when parents woke up to find their son’s face splashed on the front page of local newspaper, with police saying he is one of the most dangerous terrorists and is planning an attack on Kenyan soil.

The parents of Gaddafi alias Munene persuaded their son to surrender himself to the police or risk being sprayed with bullets as detectives try to crackdown on the masterminds of last week’s Dusit terror attack that left at least 21 people injured and many more fighting for their lives.

Gaddafi was booked for questioning by detectives. His parents say their son has been working for a leading firm on Mombasa Road in Nairobi. In an interesting turn of events, three other people have surrendered to the police after their names were published in local dailies.

They include Ali Abdi Kachora, Boru Abdi Bidu and Ramadhan Rasho. They are now being questioned by detectives. This brings to four, the number of people who have surrendered out of the initial list of eight.

On Sunday, police asked the public to help with information concerning the youth, who are believed to be planning an attack on Kenyan soil. But is this a case of targeting the wrong person? Only time will tell.

Kenyan security forces have been in the limelight for targeting wrong people during crackdowns. It is detrimental to publish photos of innocent people and accuse them of terrorism
