Sad!Kenyan blogger gets two nominations for global award days after his death

Kenyan journalist cum footballer James Radido Oduor alias Cobra has been nominated for international awards days after his sudden death.

Cobra who is among top 10 finalists in the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) awards under the Africa category lost his life in the hands of Al shababs during the Dusit terror attack.

Two of his online Wadau TV documentaries nominated for global awards, these include;

‘We Must Relive History reactions from, Gor Mahia Fans’ and ‘Oti Father’s Favorite Phrase which captured the life and times of the late Oti Father, a Nairobi revered coach.

The gala ceremony takes place on Monday, January 21, in Switzerland. With more than 9,000 members worldwide from leading sports news outlets, AIPS represents professional sports media.

 

It was established in Paris, France in 1924, as L’Association Internationale de la Presse Sportive, on the eve of the Olympic Games though its headquarters are based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

At the time of the attack, the 28-year-old was in a meeting with colleagues at one of the LG Electronics offices within the affected area and even tweeted they had been trapped inside the building.

But despite his untimely demise, local sports fraternity hope Oduor will be celebrated forever for his contributions as a coach to most estate football clubs.
