Save a Place For Me As You Sing With the Angels,Tearful Talia Oyando Mourns Bruce Odhiambo

Media personality Talia Oyando joined friends and family of the late Bruce Odhiambo in paying glowing tribute to the former Youth Fund boss at a requiem mass held at Nairobi Baptist Church.

Bruce was remembered by many as a great, generous and talented man who used his God given skills to change humanity and help develop talents especially in the musical scene.

Talia Oyango, a renowned media personality at Homeboyz Radio and host of Citizen TV’s one Love Reggae and Dancehall show remembered how Bruce was there for her during her times of need.

She remembered how the fallen Bruce fed her when she was chenilles and jobless.

“Save a place for me as you sing with the angels. I have lost a true friend, rest in peace Bruce Odhiambo, rest in peace father,” Talia said.

“I remember when I lost my job, he fed me every single day, every day,” she added.

“He knew I was so proud to ask for help, we were neighbours. When I did not have money, he gave me money and told me as a joke, ebu just go buy that. I want to tell you thank you, for calling me all the time just to make sure I was okay.” she concluded.

Others who also paid tribute were Sauti Sol who told a tale of how Bruce Odhiambo offered his studio for them to record their award winning album.

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja alongside artistes like Daddy Owen and Suzzanna Owiyo were also present at the mass.

Margaret referred to Bruce as a go-getter and talented musician who joined hands with others to entertain Kenyans. Margaret was reading President Kenyatta’s tribute speech.

Uhuru is said to have been a close friend to the late Bruce with the two having schooled together back in the days.

“Bruce Odhiambo was a go-getter. He was a talented musician who joined hands with others to entertain Kenyans with the legendary Mombasa based Safari Sounds Band and Spartans,”

“He was an advocate for the youth and a trailblazer in the music industry, a skilled administrator, a talented person, who excelled in different spheres of human development.

Death has robbed us of a great leader mentor and friend. Bruce was a generous person ready to use his God given talent which he applied to nature the talents of young people,” read Uhuru’s tribute speech in part.
