Meru Senator Mithika Linturi’s daughter now says she has never had a rosy relationship with the politician’s estranged wife, Marianne Kitanny.
In her affidavit filed on Wednesday, Brenda Mwendwa Linturi claimed that on or around December 2017, his father introduced Kitanny to her and her siblings at their Runda home as a “friend in distress.”
“My father also informed us that he had previously allowed the applicant to temporarily stay with us at our Runda home; and establish a temporary personal office at Atticon Limited, a company that my father had been running for some years,’’ reads the affidavit.
The lawmaker’s daughter further claimed that Kitanny and her three children moved into the Runda home a few days later resulting in congestion.
“Nonetheless, I took comfort in my father’s assurance that the applicant was only staying temporarily and would move out immediately her condition improved, ” added the affidavit.
She said that Kitanny, at first, would take them out for dinner, shopping, accompany them to the salon and “issue good advice while we spent some quality girl time.”
The affidavit also claimed Kitanny got comfortable over time and the mask of friendliness started to wear off, adding that things started spiraling out of control in January 2018 after she (Kitanny) found out that her daughter, Sharon Langat, had gotten a navel piercing with the help of Linturi’s daughter.
“The applicant and I have had a very nasty relationship ever since the incident surrounding Sharon’s navel piercing, which I believe she blew out of proportion, and accused me of bringing friends over without consulting her as a parent, yet she and I do not have a parent-child relationship,” she added.
