Denis Oliech scores for Second Consecutive Game in a row

Legendary Gor Mahia striker came off the bench to score a goal from the spot in his second consecutive appearance on the local scene as Gor eased past a hapless Mt. Kenya FC with a 4-1 victory.

The hero of the day however was Ugandan import Erisa Ssekisambu who bagged a sweet hat-trick as coach Hassan Oktay’s charges climbed upto fourth place for the first time this season.

The victory also means that Gor are now just four points behind league pacesetters Mathare United who have set the league blazing this season and beat other title hopefuls Tusker FC over the weekend to consolidate their position.

Gor are now level on 13  points with  Tusker and Kariobangi Sharks

Captain Harun Shakava and Joash Onyango, who had not featured for Gor in their last two matches, were handed starts at the heart of the defence with Oliech dropping to the bench.

With Jacques Tuyisenge rested ahead of Gor’s CAF Confederations Cup return leg clash against New Star de Douala, Ssekisambu started as the lead striker and the Ugandan needed just two minutes to hurt Mount Kenya.

Moses Odhiambo scoring the consolation for Mount Kenya.

Mount Kenya had made a swift start, putting the ball into the back of Gor’s net but the strike was ruled out for offside. George Odhiambo found Ssekisambu on the other end with a cross and the Ugandan did well to guide it into the net.
