Is it Revenge by the Perpetrators of the Westgate Attack? Reasons Why the Dusit Attack is Not Ordinary

 

The Dustin Attack has left the Country in some sort of shock and confusion. Kenya was enjoying some much needed peace after a protracted period of politicking that culminated to the handshake.

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta had on his part assured Citizens that security agencies were on high alert to prevent any attacks from the enemies given the fact that Kenyan soldiers are still in Somalia fighting the Alshabab.

According to eye witnesses privy to happenings at the Dustin Hotel, at about 2.30 pm this afternoon, gunshots could be heard emanating from the area that hosts the Dusit Hotels and the Nairobi University Hostles.

It is believed that armed terrorists gained access to the Dusit Hotel and began to open fire.

The attack on Dusit Hotel at Riverside Drive comes hours after a Kenyan court declares that the suspects of Westgate Siege have a case to answer.

A Nairobi court ruled on Monday that three suspects accused of masterminding the deadly Westgate Mall attack in 2013 have a case to answer.

Ahmed Abdi, Liban Omar and Hussein Mustafa were put on their defence by Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi. The court freed the fourth accused, Adan Dheg.

The attack carried out on September 21, 2013 in the upscale Nairobi mall left 68 dead and over wounded.

The four had been jointly and separately charged with conspiracy to commit a terrorist act, among other charges.

Mr Andayi said the prosecution has provided evidence adequate to sustain a prosecution against the three.

The four faced a total of 12 counts among them commission of a terrorist act and conspiring to commit a terrorist act.

Mr Andayi dismissed the first count of commission of a terrorist act against all the accused persons.

Other charges brought against the trio include giving support to a terrorist group.
