Oparanya under fire for his loose inciting tongue

The DCI has issued a summon to Kakamega Governor Wyclife Oparanya and Mahikalo MCA Joab Mwamtoon January 18, 2019.

As communicated in the summon, the DCI believes that their utterances fueled the burning down of a storey building belonging to Salim Saleh Mohammed at Kambi Somali Estate, Kakamega.

“I have a reason to believe that you are connected or have information that may assist in the investigation of a criminal case reported by the complainant,” part of the summon read.

According to the DCI, Oparanya and Mwamto allegedly incited the residents to kill or evict Mohammed before the arson attack happened.

The building was burnt down after the body of Shirlene Mwanzia, a nine-year-old was found dumped in a water tank belonging to Mohammed.

It was alleged that Mohammed’s son had abducted and killed the nine-year-old, thereafter dumping her in his father’s water tank where her decomposing body would later be discovered.

The standard three pupil is reported to have gone missing on March 11, 2018, after playing with her friends.

The DCI now wants the accused to appear before the regional DCI offices to answer to the allegations.

“I hereby call upon you to appear before the Regional DCI Headquarters on January 18 to answer questions in relations to the alleged offence,” the letter continued.

The letter was received by the Kakamega County Attorney Moses Sande on behalf of the accused.
