Go solve ‘your’ maize crisis, Mudavadi allies tell off Tangatanga team

Over the recent past, Deputy President Dr William Ruto and his Tanga tanga team camped in Western region trying to earn a massive following towards his 2022 presidential bid.

Some of Western region leaders allied to him traversed with Ruto in the region. Former Kkamega Senator Boni Khalwale, Senate speaker Ken Lusaka and Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa are the Tanga Tanga western camp leaders.

Their new found relationship with Dr Ruto raised concerns among other Luhyia leaders who condemned Ruto’s frequent visits to the region.

His 2022 race has raised a serious debate over his President Uhuru Kenyatta succession, which has seen a major division in Jubilee Party.

Former Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe ignited the debate further by maintaining his stunt that there was no any MoU between Ruto and Mt Kenya region, thus calling for his retirement in 2022.

He has hence vowed to use all means possible to bar Dr Ruto from vying in 2022.

Murathe’s statement has hence welcomed various sentiments from both camps, Uhuru’s and Ruto’s, with some Mt Kenya leaders accusing Uhuru of neglecting them.

However, several leaders have come out to condemn President Kenyatta’s critics, thus defending his development records.

Women elected leaders accused the critics yesterday Thursday. Today Friday, Musalia Mudavadi led Amani National Congress (ANC) leaders have also come out to condemn those criticising the President.

Through a press conference, Vihiga County Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala condemned leaders who have been dishing out handouts to MCAs and MPs from Western Kenya to campaign for 2022 politics instead of resolving the maize crisis in their backyard.

This seems to be directed to Tanga tanga team who have been traversing the region whereas maize farmers in their region continue to suffer.

The ANC Party also condemned utterances from politicians that demean the presidency, saying that the presidency should be respected as it is a symbol of national unity.
