Man Utd ready to sign £173,000-a-week winger for Solskjaer

Manchester United have recently been linked with Belgian international Yannick Carrasco and the latest update seems positive.

On January 04, Foot Mercato reported that the Red Devils are interested in signing the winger, who currently plays for Chinese Super League club, Dalian Yifang.

More recently, an update has been provided by Calcio Mercato, who claim that Manchester United are ready to meed the demands of interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s who wants to sign the former Atletico Madrid to reinforce his attack.

The Italian source have mentioned that Arsenal are also interested in the 25-year-old attacker, who would like to play under the management of Unai Emery. Furthermore, it has been reported that Carrasco is looking at the possibility of taking a pay cut on his current wages of €10million-a-year (£173,000-a-week) to move back to Europe.

The speedy winger is in his peak years and with Atletico Madrid, he had a mammoth release clause of €100million  in his contract before he decided to leave for Yifang, who struggled big time last season.

The former Rojiblancos star has regularly played for the senior national side. He featured in every game for Belgium at the European Championships in 2016 and made four appearances at the FIFA World Cup last year.

So, Carrasco’s decision to move to China did not make much sense. If it was about money, then I think he could have easily got the above mentioned wages at any top European club. To be honest, he could still get a huge deal.

The ex Monaco star can play anywhere in the attacking third and can strike the ball well with both feet. He would definitely improve Solskjaer’s attack if United can somehow get his signing done.

Carrasco moved to China for a fee of £26.5m and has a contract until December 2021. United would surely have to pay a decent fee to hire his services.
