Lazio likely to be home for Chelsea star

Davide Zappacosta’s dream move to Chelsea might not be the move of his dreams eventually. The Italian played second fiddle to former Super Eagles star Victor Moses in his first season and continued in that trend with club captain Cesar Azpilicueta in his second season. The former Torino wingback never got a full time berth at Stamford Bridge and is willing to make a move back to the Serie A.

Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio struggled to end the 2018 season but even so, they are currently fourth in the Italian Serie A standings (as they have one point more than Rino Gattuso’s AC Milan side). Lazio would like to acquire a new wingback in the January transfer window as they have had their eyes on Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta and Man United’s Matteo Darmian of late.

Still according to Il Messaggero, it seems like Lazio are now in pole position as they are confident they can get a deal done. Time will tell as we should have more news on the matter soon. Inter and Juve have also been linked to the Italian defender.
