Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is currently the talk of town after a scathing attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee government on new year eve.

The legislator expressed concerns that the Mt. Kenya region has not befitted much from the Jubilee government. He suggested that although the region backed supported UhuRuto in 2013, August 8 and October 27, 2017, the region has not received any development support.

“We have been rendered into voting machines but development is channeled elsewhere; we must shelve that nonsense. I want to tell the President to launch water, new roads and electrification projects. We were with him in Kisumu where he launched new roads but coming to Kiambu, he only issued certificates to rehabilitated alcoholics,” said Mr Kuria.

His remarks have already landed his family in trouble as his brother, who was a senior employee at the Kiambu County government, has been sent on compulsory leave.

The MP’s brother, Mr John Ngigi Kuria, who was serving as the Chief Officer in charge of Agriculture, Crop Production, Irrigation and Marketing in the county, was handed a 30-day leave letter on January 2.

He was also ordered to surrender all the tools and equipment that are in his possession to his Livestock and Fisheries docket.

Interestingly, Babu Owino, a man who does not see eye to eye with Kuria has come out to publicly defend his embattled colleague.

“Hon Moses Kuria has made it clear that, one of you being the President is not a guarantee for better treatment!” Babu said through his official Twitter handle. He went on to claim that he will be voting for Raila Odinga in 2022
