Jose Mourinho Had SECRET Paul Pogba Meeting In Bid To Repair Relationship

Manchester United have sacked Mourinho, with the departure of the 55-year-old widely expected to spark an upturn in form for Pogba.

The France international was at war with his former boss before Mourinho’s departure on Tuesday, with details of their rift still emerging.

And the Daily Mail say that, back in April, Jose Mourinho met with the Manchester United star in private as they sought a resolution to their problems.

It is said they had a coffee together and talked at length about ways the duo could move forward.

Two months before that, Pogba had clashed with Mourinho on the Wembley touchline.

United lost 2-0 to Tottenham in February and the France international publicly questioned his manager’s tactics in front of £80,000 people.

In Mourinho’s eyes, that was unforgivable.

The former United manager responded by dropping Pogba for the club’s crucial Champions League last-16 clash against Sevilla at Old Trafford.

But the Daily Mail say that, in April, the duo tried to reconcile their differences.

Ultimately, however, neither heavyweight backed down.

The report states Pogba wanted to play in a more advanced midfield role so he could influence matches.

Mourinho, however, did not agree. Instead, he told the United star he would have to get in line – or face being benched.

Ultimately, it proved to be Mourinho’s undoing. Pogba will now be expected to kick on at United under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And former France international David Trezeguet feels he must now start to justify his £89million price tag.

“He was exceptional in Russia last summer and key to success as he took a leadership role,” Trezeguet told the Mirror.

“Now, of course the fans and the media expect a lot from him.

“And so he must demonstrate his qualities with Manchester United and set the bar high himself.”
