President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently spending his second day in the two days historic visit to Nyanza region. The visit is marked as historic as the region had grown to be hostile for him after the 2017 General Election that divided the region.
Nyanza which is former Prime Minister Raila Odinga decided to oppose his presidency.
But thanks to the handshake the healing process is taking shape and now President Uhuru is becoming the darling of the people of Nyanza Region.
This is evident as he choose the region to be among the pilot counties in launching the Universal Health Care Programme which is among his Big Four Agenda.
Among the part of the visit is Mr. Raila and his family hosting the President for Breakfast. During the breakfast was expected to visit the Late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga’s grave for blessings.
The breakfast in Opoda Farm in Bondo saw famous faces including Jimmy Wanjigi , Paul Ongiri alias Babu Owino, but DP Ruto was missing.
Deputy President was in Kisii University Presiding over the 6th Graduation ceremony.
Does it mean he was not welcomed?
But the call for duty barred the Deputy President who decided to accompany the President in efforts to make his political cards are properly shuffled.
In the same tone , President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are expecting to be honored by Bondo University for their peace gesture that was achieved through the handshake.
