Is suicide always a solution to depressions?

 

The rate at which married couples especially men commit suicide due to marital dispute with their spouses is alarming.

Do you think couples now days don’t follow proper procedure before getting married?

A man committed suicide in his in-laws’ compound at Anin village in Keiyo North after he failed to get back his wife and child.

The man identified as Daniel Chesang is said to have gone to the home  to get his wife a Mercy Jepkemoi who left  her matrimonial home with their child in Kabartonjo, Baringo County, after they quarrelled.

A neighbour, Eziline Kemboi, said Chesang visited the home in November to ask his wife to return home, but she refused.Ms Kemboi said he might have decided to take his life out of frustration after his latest attempt to save his marriage failed.

Chesang’s body was later found hanging from a tree near his brother-in-law’s house.Always quarrelled”They quarrelled each time Chesang came for her. When he came in November, Chesang stayed for a whole week begging her to go back with him but she declined,” said Kemboi.

Ms Jepkemoi, 24, and a mother of a five-year-old boy, had vowed never to return to her husband.

Cornfirming the incident, Keiyo North Administration Police boss Joseph Biwott said Chesang committed suicide after Jepkemoi’s parents refused to allow him to get his wife and child back.

The body was taken to Iten County Referral Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
