Top Kenya’s football star and former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech, has hinted the possibility of returning to Kenya Premier League (KPL) before January 2019.

During an interview with Milele FM, Oliech revealed that he was in talks with top three clubs in Kenya and that he had ambitions to represent the country once more, in the Africa Cuo of Nations championship  in June 2019.

He also said that there are high chances of him to reclaim his position in the national team.

“I am yet to retire, I can come back to Harambee Stars. First of all, let me return to the local league and be the top scorer, then I will be good to return to the national team. I know I am good and I will score goals.

“Currently I have three options that include Gor Mahia, Sofapaka and Mathare United. I will for sure play in the Kenya Premier League this season. I am itching to make a return and I am confident that by January, I will have nailed a deal to mark my return,” Oliech commented.

The striker, also known as Dennis the Menace, due to the troubles he caused many defenders and goalkeepers, remains Kenya’s all-time goal scorer after scoring 37 goals in 74 national team appearances.

For Kenya to have made the 2004 Nations Cup, it was Oliech’s powerful rocket that floored Cape Verde at the Nyayo National Stadium on July 5, 2003, in the sixth and final qualifier that kept Kenya above Togo in the Group.

Oliech spent the better part of his professional career playing for clubs in the French Ligue 1 and 2, featuring for Nantes, Auxerre, and Ajaccio.

Earlier in July, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko appointed Oliech to the  Nairobi County Sports Committee to oversee sports development in the county.

Do you think his return will be a win to Kenya’s football?
