The old man is not feeling well. He will go for medical check-up. So, he needs your prayers as he gets treatment.

Kenya’s former President Daniel arap Moi was on Wednesday afternoon admitted at the Nairobi Hospital for a routine check-up.

His physician, Dr David Silverstein, said Mr Moi would spend a few nights in the hospital for the doctors to have enough time to examine him.

Mr Moi’s admission was announced by his office in a short statement.

This is second time the president is seeking treatment this year,

In march the former President Daniel arap Moi was taken to Israel for a checkup on his knee which has been giving him discomfort.

“Mzee Moi is accompanied by his physician Dr David Silverstein and his son Senator Gideon Moi,” the brief statement read.

The former president turned 94 in September, a ceremony which he celebrated in a private function at his Kabarak home, west of Nairobi.

A statement by his press secretary Lee Njiru said he was with immediate family members.

Daniel arap Moi’s secret to long life lies in the food he eats

At 90, he would have had more than 34 years more were we living some 2,500 years ago.

During the time of Herodotus, Africans lived for 124 years, a fact recorded by the Greek father of history in his book, Histories Book II.

This could be true given that initially most African communities had eight age sets, each lasting 16 years.

Herodotus found out that the Autochthons of Azania led such long lives because of drinking clean water from the highlands.

Something went wrong, and now we will be lucky to live beyond 80 years. I still advocate the use of raw blood and honey in our diet.
