I bet we’ve all been disappointed by tailors at what point or another. In fact if there are people we should never trust, it’s tailors, especially Kenyan tailors who all seem to have all gone to the same school and graduated with a PhD in lying.

The much anticipated police uniform that was to be unveiled during tomorrows December 12, Jamhuri Day may not be worn by the officers tomorrow as planned due  to ‘extensive hiccups in the supply logistics.’

With only a few hours to the out phasing of the police attire, it is alleged that only a few officers have so far received the new uniform. Apparently, senior ranking officers like Senior Assistant Inspector General (SAIG), Assistant Inspector General (AIG) and Commissioner of Police had not received their uniforms as of Monday, 10th December.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet had earlier instructed that all officers working at Vigilance House and Jogoo House be in the new attire tomorrow but it has now emerged that tailors are yet to take the measurements of officers deployed there.

Additionally, only officers with senior ranks are reportedly been provided with the Persian blue material at the Industrial Area to have their uniform done. Officers of lower ranks are provided with the full uniform inclusive of shirt/blouse, trousers and beret.

Only Boinnet and his deputy from the Kenya Police, Edward Mbugua and officers attending the National Police Service week have appeared publicly in the new attire since it was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta with the agenda of changing the face of the National Police Service.
