KPL Moves to Solve Gor Mahia & Sharks Fixtures Pile Up

Remember how Gor Mahia players and fans decried last season’s fixture pile up that saw them play many matches within a span of few days? Well, the problem is back only that this time KPL looks keen to avoid a repeat of last season’s happenings when Gor Mahia even blamed KPL for it’s elimination from the CAF Championships.

Kenyan Premier League has now pushed back K’Ogalo’s league match against Zoo FC.

Gor Mahia will be engaged in a Caf Champions League match with Lobi Stars of Nigeria on December 16, same as Kariobangi Sharks who will take on Asante Kotoko in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The league fixtures for the two teams have been rescheduled to allow them to prepare for the continental assignments.

“Following Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks’ participation in CAF competitions, their SPL Round 02 matches are rescheduled,” KPL said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, the venue of the Sofapaka versus Bandari match has been changed from Narok County Stadium to Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos. The date of the match remains Sunday, December 16, 2018.

Do you think KPL’s involvement by rescheduling fixtures can help Gor and Sharks mount a great challenge in their continental assignments?
