Dj Pinye is under fire after he made a controversial statement in regard to Kenyan artists Khaligraph Jones and DNA.
The DJ had mentioned that he never used to play the music of the two artists suggesting that it was all mediocre until now that they have grown in the industry.
Khaligraph Jones on his end addressed the matter on a light note saying that he prefers remaining calm and respectful otherwise he would have written a diss track that everyone would be singing along to.
DNA however blew up and savagely attacked the DJ saying that instead of encouraging artists he decides to speak in a very distasteful manner.
Mungu nisaidie, this guy…..@djpinye , so, according to you,me, @khaligraph_jones and Ethic are mediocre artists.Wah.Boss,you are 48.Do you know at your age, that you can be Lamba Lolo’s father-damn,even Khali’s father, but instead of encouraging them, you are trying to break them down? he said
He addressed the fact that Pinye failed to notice that at least the Ethic group is trying to be of positive impact instead of robbing or involving themselves in crime.
DNA also added that despite the fact that Pinye turned him down months back, he still manage to succeed in his music career.
“A few months after you turned me down,me and my guys walked into Ogilvy and licensed the song for 100,000$. Yes.A hundred thousand dollars. For a “mediocre” song. And that was just the first deal.On God.I am so happy that you turned me down, because I was forced to learn marketing, and went on to have many, many hits.Without YOU.I have never been played on the Beat, and my “mediocre” music is being played ALL OVER THE WORLD.I have been ALL OVER THE WORLD bevause of my “mediocre” songs.
Pinye,I have played concerts in more parts of the world than YOU.Let’s count if you want. And I have another “mediocre” song about to come out that will rule the airwaves, kama ilivyo kawaida yangu.Without YOU.” he said
The artist also jumped in the defense of Khaligraph Jones who recently won an AFRIMMA yet Pinye had the gut to mention him.
Giving him a piece of wisdom, DNA asked him to go home and think about his life instead of igniting petty arguments.
