Lionel Messi breaks one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s UEFA records which cannot be overtaken by Ronaldo again, while Ronaldo still has another one!

During the Barcelona’s Champions League match against Eindhoven, Lionel Messi contributed a goal with his left foot in the second half, helping his team lead Eindhoven 1-0. The goal Messi scored in this match allowed Messi to become the football player scoring the most goals for a single football club in the Champions League.

After scoring this goal, Messi has scored 106 goals in the Champions League on behalf of Barcelona, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo who scored 105 goals for Real Madrid in the Champions League. Also, Cristiano Ronaldo already left the Galactic battleship and this record cannot be overtaken by the Portuguese again.

However, despite Lionel Messi has set a new record of goals for one club, Critiano Ronaldo remains in front overall. He has scored 121 goals in his all competitions in the Champions League and is still No. 1 among top UEFA Champions League scorers(excluding qualifying), followed by Lionel Messi(106 goals) and Raúl González(71goals).

Ronaldo scored his 121st Champions League goal on matchday four of the 2018/2019 campaign, opening his account for Juve in a 2-1 loss to his old side Manchester United.
