Klopp picks out one Everton man for praise: ‘What a player’

Jurgen Klopp thinks that Marco Silva has the “best Everton squad” that he has faced in his time at Liverpool. The Reds will face the Toffees on Sunday at 4.15pm without Jordan Henderson, who will miss the match through suspension.

Klopp‘s men lost 2-1 to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night as their Champions League qualification hopes hang by a thread. Everton could provide a welcome distraction and a perfect way to bounce back – but Klopp has warned that Silva’s outfit have some dangerous players, including Richarlison.

“Silva has the best Everton squad [I have faced],” Klopp told reporters. “He brought in Richarlison, what a player he is. It’s the best-tuned squad, 100 per cent. Good organisation, speed, Coleman back and fit, Keane settled, Mina brilliant player, Digne like a young Baines. England’s No.1. Really good team.”

“The improvement of Everton is obvious. Completely different team, different style, it’s good.”

Everton paid around £40 million to sign Richarlison from Watford and the forward has had an excellent start.

Already this season he has scored six goals in 11 Premier League games.

He is going to pose a difficult threat for Liverpool to deal with heading into this weekend’s Merseyside derby.

Carragher said: “He (Silva)’s brought in Richarlison, who looks fantastic.

“He looks like one of the best signings in the league at this stage.”
